Fotona TightSculpting® Laser Treatment is a non-surgical alternative without the scars or downtime typical with a surgical thigh lift. A surgical thigh lift targets only one aspect of improving the look of thighs by removing excess skin to improve appearance. Surgical intervention requires the operating room, anesthesia, significant downtime, recovery pain, risk of infection, and scars.
How is Fotona TightSculpting® Different than Surgery?
TightSculpting® addresses three concerns of skin tightening – Tone and Texture, Laxity, and Volume Loss – with a completely non-surgical approach regardless of what area of the body is being treated.
Tone and Texture is best described as what you can see and feel on the skin…it’s the perfections and imperfections.
Laxity and Volume Loss are mutual and not exclusive of each other. If you have volume loss there will be laxity – if there is laxity it is typical to have experienced volume loss from aging or weight loss. Collagen production stops at about the age of 30, so by the age of 40 subtle changes in the skin are more pronounced and apparent. Anyone who has lost 10 or more pounds knows clothes fit better, but your skin doesn’t always look better!
How Does TightSculpting®Work?
TightSculpting® is a unique non-invasive laser treatment that combines two procedures in one for sculpting and skin tightening on all body areas. A laser safely and gently heats the target tissue remodeling, and rejuvenating the surrounding tissue. At the same time the laser tightens the skin by generating new collagen, resulting in an overall improvement of contour, laxity, and elasticity in the treated areas.
What Can I Expect From The Treatment?
Each person is different, but you can expect minimal to no discomfort during the treatment. Immediately following each treatment, you may experience some redness or minor swelling that will diminish after a few hours. You can resume your daily activities immediately following the treatment. If you elect to have a more aggressive treatment, you may experience a day or two of redness.
How Can A Laser Get Rid of Fat Cells?
The laser safely and rapidly heats up your skin , targeting its energy beneath your skin tightening and rejuvenating the area. Fat cells are only heated to the point of apoptosis in the areas needed for fat loss and sculpting. Other areas are treated for specific contouring, collagen remodeling and resurfacing of the skin’s tone and texture. Other popular treatments, Cool Sculpt and Sculpture, do not offer the multi-step procedure for complete body contouring. The most important factor to keep in mind with body contouring is to never remove fat without the side effect of skin tightening!
What Does It Feel Like?
The first part of the treatment consists of deep heating over the desired treatment area. Initially you may feel a gradual warming and after a few minutes you may experience some very brief hot sensations in the treatment area. The overall sensation can be similar to a hot stone massage or a dry sauna. The second part involves more superficial heating. Depending on the treatment area, the heat generated is slightly more intense, but still very tolerable. Post treatment your skin will feel warm to the touch and may be pink or even red for a day or two.
How Long Does it Take to See Results?
Results will vary with every individual. Most patients will see immediate tightening followed by a gradual change in contour as your newly refreshed skin tightens. Depending on your desired results, you may require multiple treatments. To achieve the same results as TightSculpting® other treatments require you to undergo two separate procedures: one to target contouring and one to target tightening taking more time to see results. With TightSculpting®, these procedures are combined to give you quicker, more immediate results.
What Areas Can Be Treated With TightSculpting®?
The most common areas treated on the body with TightSculpting® are the abdomen for women after pregnancy or liposuction imperfections. Other areas include bra fat, love handles, inner or outer thighs, or the entire thigh. The most popular area for skin tightening is the lower face and neck. The picture seen above was with only ONE treatment of TightSculpting®. The number of treatments needed is directly related to age, area on the body, and/or the significance of the problem area.
